Job, accused by his friends, still says, “till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me” (Job 27:5). Scripture seldom handles right and wrong in the abstract; it shows people living it out, and asking God to weigh them. Proverbs says, “The integrity of the upright shall guide them,” and Psalm 15 describes a person who “walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.” The New Testament adds conscience, and Paul says he works at keeping “a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men” (Acts 24:16). Psalm 15 takes under a minute to read.
