Old Testament

Genesis

50 chapters

Genesis is the book of beginnings: the creation of the world, the first people, the first sin and the first promise of rescue. After the flood and the tower of Babel, the story narrows to one family. God calls Abraham and promises that through him all nations will be blessed, and the book follows that promise through Isaac, Jacob and Joseph, ending with Israel's family settled in Egypt.
