Thanksgiving
Ten healed men set off toward the priests, and only one turned back. He “fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan” (Luke 17:16). Jesus noticed the other nine. Gratitude runs through Scripture as a habit as much as a feeling, and the psalms are full of it: “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever” (Psalm 107:1). Paul carries it into ordinary days, writing “In every thing give thanks.” Thanks is spoken aloud, sung and offered, and it is often tied to remembering what God has already done. Psalm 100 is a short place to start.
