Old Testament

Numbers

36 chapters

Numbers follows Israel through forty years in the wilderness. It opens and closes with a census, and between them the people complain, rebel and refuse to enter the promised land, so a whole generation passes away. Yet God keeps providing manna, water and guidance, and the book ends with a new generation on the edge of Canaan.
