Jezer

Jezer is one of Naphtali’s sons, named among the family who went down into Egypt with Jacob. Genesis 46 lists him along with Jahzeel, Guni and Shillem, and Numbers 26 counts the clans again at the wilderness census, where his descendants are “the family of the Jezerites.” First Chronicles 7 gives the same four names a third time. Nothing is told of Jezer’s own life. What the verses keep is his name and the tribe branch that carried it, which was enough for a family to be counted among Israel.
