Jahzeel

Jahzeel was a son of Naphtali, one of the sons of Jacob, born through Bilhah. He is named among those who went into Egypt in Genesis 46, and he stands at the head of his own family in the later count of Numbers 26, where his descendants are called the Jahzeelites. In 1 Chronicles 7 the same man is written Jahziel. Beyond these lists, the Bible tells us nothing about him. Still, the family kept his name for generations, and that is how a quiet man came to give his name to a clan. Genesis 46:24 is the simplest place to meet him.
