Pedahzur

Pedahzur is known only as a father. His son Gamaliel led the tribe of Manasseh in the wilderness, and each time Gamaliel appears he is introduced as “the son of Pedahzur.” He is named “the captain of the children of Manasseh” when the camp is set in order, he brings his offering on the eighth day of the dedication, and he commands his tribe’s host when the camp moves out. Nothing is said of Pedahzur himself, which is a small reminder that Scripture often records a person only through the family that follows.
