Nekoda is a family name from the lists of people who returned from exile. “The children of Nekoda” are counted in Ezra 2:60, where the total is 652, and again in Nehemiah 7:62, where it is 642. They are named earlier in each list too, in Ezra 2:48 and Nehemiah 7:50. Nothing more is told of them. The lists show how carefully Scripture records ordinary families who made the journey home.

(1.) The descendants of Nekoda returned among the Nethinim after the captivity. (Ezra 2:48; Nehemiah 7:50)
(2.) The sons of Nekoda were among those who went up after the captivity from Tel-melah, Tel-harsa, and other places, but were unable to prove their descent from Israel. (Ezra 2:60; Nehemiah 7:62)
