Michaiah

A man hears the words of the LORD read aloud and cannot keep them to himself. In Jeremiah 36, Michaiah listens as Baruch reads the prophet’s book, then goes down to the king’s house, where the princes sit in the scribe’s chamber. He tells them all he heard. They send for Baruch to bring the roll and read it to them as well. Michaiah is a small figure in a tense chapter, yet the way the message travels from one listener to the next begins with him.
