Lod
Lod was a small town in the hills west of Jerusalem, built, according to 1 Chronicles 8, by a Benjamite family along with nearby Ono. It appears again when exiles come home from Babylon: Ezra and Nehemiah each count the children of Lod, Hadid and Ono among those who returned, with the totals differing slightly between the two lists. In the New Testament the same town is called Lydda. There the disciples, hearing that Peter is close by, send two men to ask him to come without delay. See Acts 9 for what happened when he arrived.
