Joiada
Joiada was a priest in the line of Jeshua, son of Eliashib and father of Jonathan. Nehemiah records him in two lists of those who served at the temple after the return from exile. The only story attached to the family is a hard one: one of Joiada’s sons had married the daughter of Sanballat, who had opposed Nehemiah’s work, and Nehemiah “chased him from me.” The passages show that even a faithful priestly line could be tested from within. The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.

And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.
