(majesty of Jehovah), one of the two wives of Ezra, a man of Judah. (1 Chronicles 4:19) She is doubtless the same person as Jehudijah in ver. 18.
Hodiah
Hodiah, also spelled Hodijah, is the name of a Levite who turns up in the days of Nehemiah. After the wall was built, Ezra read the law to the people, and Nehemiah 8:7 says that Hodijah and others “caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.” In Nehemiah 9:5 he is among the Levites calling the people to worship: “Stand up and bless the LORD your God for ever and ever.” His name appears again in the list of those who sealed the covenant in Nehemiah 10. He is one of the helpers who explained the Scripture and led the praise.
