Helkath

Helkath was a border town in the land given to Asher. Joshua 19:25 names it first as the border was drawn: “their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph.” Later it is set apart for the Levites, who received towns from every tribe, and Joshua 21:31 lists “Helkath with her suburbs” among four cities from Asher. First Chronicles 6:75 repeats the list, calling the same place Hukok. The name is only a point on the map, but it shows how carefully the land was shared out and how the Levites were given homes among all the tribes.
