Ezion-Gaber (ezion-Geber)
Two very different events share one place name, spelled Eziongaber in one book and Eziongeber in another. In Numbers 33 Israel “encamped at Eziongaber” and then moved on toward the wilderness of Zin. Later, in 1 Kings 22, we read that “Jehoshaphat made ships of Tharshish to go to Ophir for gold: but they went not; for the ships were broken at Eziongeber.” One verse records a camp, the other a plan that fell apart.
