Botanical Gardens
No verse here mentions a botanical garden as such, but the Bible does show people delighting in cultivated ground. The Preacher in Ecclesiastes 2:5-6 says he made gardens and orchards, planted trees of every fruit, and dug pools to water them. In 1 Kings 4:33 Solomon is said to have spoken about trees, “from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall.” Even rare animals and goods arrive by ship in 1 Kings 10:22. Ecclesiastes 2 is the place to start, with its honest question about what such pleasures finally give.

And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.
For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
