Zechariah, like Haggai, encouraged the returned exiles to rebuild the temple. His book is full of visions: horsemen, lampstands, a flying scroll. Its later chapters speak of a coming king "lowly, and riding upon an ass," words the Gospels connect with Jesus entering Jerusalem.
