Ishiah
The name Ishiah, also spelled Isshiah, belongs to more than one man in the lists of Chronicles. In the tribe of Issachar, Ishiah is one of five sons or descendants of Uzzi, and all of them were called chief men. In the Levite lists of 1 Chronicles 24, Isshiah is the first of the sons of Rehabiah, and another Isshiah is a brother of Michah, with a son named Zechariah. These verses do not tell his story. They show that the work of the tribes and of the Levites was handed down by name from one generation to the next, so that each man had a place.
