Azubah

Azubah is a woman’s name that turns up in two family lines. Caleb, the son of Hezron, has children by her, among them Jesher, Shobab and Ardon (1 Chronicles 2:18). Then comes a short, plain line: “when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath” (1 Chronicles 2:19). Another Azubah is a daughter of Shilhi and the mother of King Jehoshaphat of Judah (1 Kings 22:42). The list gives her no speeches, only her place in a family record, but it is there. Those who like names can start with 1 Chronicles 2.
