Azel
A family line is all that remains of Azel. First Chronicles 8 lists him among the descendants of Benjamin’s household and names his six sons: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah and Hanan. The same short passage is repeated in chapter 9, nearly word for word. Nothing is said of his deeds. Still, the careful listing of children by name shows that the writer of Chronicles wanted each family remembered, even when no story survives about them.
