Aholiab

When Moses is told to build the tabernacle, God names the people who will make it. Bezaleel is one; the other is Aholiab, of the tribe of Dan, and the Lord says of both that He has put wisdom in them. Exodus 38:23 describes him as “an engraver, and a cunning workman, and an embroiderer in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet.” He is not a priest or a ruler but a craftsman, and the text treats his skill as a gift. Exodus 31 introduces the pair, and chapters 35 and 36 show them at work.
