Lamentations

5 chapters

Lamentations is a set of five poems of grief over the destruction of Jerusalem. It holds nothing back about the city's suffering. In the middle comes a famous turn toward hope: "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."
